Kingkraft to host second open day

If you missed out on Kingkraft's open day in Sheffield at the beginning of the year, don't worry because we're coming to you...well if you're based around Manchester that is. On Wednesday October 2nd we're hosting at the Disabled Living Centre in Cheetham between 10am and 3pm. A number of manufacturers in the industry (including us) will be there to provide demonstrations and a series of talks on the latest technological products and developments in the healthcare industry. Our healthcare professionals will be on hand to discuss our own bathing equipment as well as specialist seating and the always popular Protac sensory products. We might even let you have a go in the SenSit chair! Also exhibiting and providing demonstrations on the day are Geberit, Ropox and pressalit.

If that doesn't get you excited, you will also be provided with a CPD certificate on designing bathrooms for people of varying ability. This seminar is designed to raise awareness of the issues surrounding the bathroom design process for people with varying mobility. We provide relevant scenarios and explain certain guidelines for you. Kingkraft have been designing and manufacturing disabled bathrrom equipment for almost 30 years so I would have thought we know a thing or two by now about the industry ;) The seminar will last approximately one hour.

If you're still indecisive about whether you want to attend this next point should be the deciding factor, it is free!!! We let you in free of charge, provide you with a free buffet lunch and you go home with a free goody bag! Now that sounds like a great day out of the office to me!

Kingkraft help to get paws wet

Last week we found out that one of Mobile Shower Changers is being used not for people but for dogs!

We received a lovely phone call from Whitehouse Kennels and Cattery in Lympsham telling us all about their plans to bath and shower the rescue dogs when they arrive and before they leave the centre to go to their new homes.

It sent our hearts a flutter in the office when we heard of this story and we couldn't wait to share it. This is Millie enjoying her bath in the Kingkraft Mobile Shower Changer.

More updates on this lovely story will be available soon.

Kingkraft sets sail at the Mary Rose Museum

The Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth is the most exciting attraction to open this year and Kingkraft managed to have a look around before it was open to the public!

Back in March it took our engineers two hours to get through security procedures at the old naval base in order to install a Wall Mounted Changing Table into their Changing Places Facility. And they managed to get a sneak peak at some of the artefacts on display...

I arrived at the main security offices at the front of the naval base at 8.00am and was waiting for an hour and a half going through check in and security passes. Eventually someone turned up to take me to the museum. I followed him in my van for a mile passing warships, frigates and other ships that were docked. After parking up I realised the Mary Rose was no where to be seen as there was no parking at the museum! I then had to load the Changing Table onto a minibus which took me to the entrance. Before I finally got down to work I had to have a quick induction. Whilst I was installing the product a 500 year old Tudor ship was at one side of me and a military band practising at the other. After completing the job I admired the ship for a while and gave some pointers to the band before being led back to the entrance. It was a very surreal day at work but probably one of my most enjoyable despite the long waits and security checks.

Product development: The Multibath and Fusion get a facelift

The Fusion became a popular bath when it was first introduced due to the seat feature which, like the bath, could be raised and lowered. However, one thing that disappointed customers was the inability for the chair to swing out of the bath and be lowered for the user to climb onto it and enter the tub that way. The Fusion 600 addresses this problem and Kingkraft are now happy to say that the chair is able to swing out.

The seat is gently powered into the bath by a hand control and then the bath can be raised smoothly and quietly. The bath is available in three different designs to suit a particular client and the environment in which it is to be used in. The swing seat offers easy transfer with a safe working load of 150kg/24st. It also has removable inserts for more personal cleaning and lap straps and harnesses can be attached to ensure extra security when the chair is being lifted into and out of the bath.

The Multibath has also been developed to include a powered seat like the tub above. This seat can be removed easily for users who would find it unnecessary to use. A replacement cover will then be fastened to the capping column. The seat features a strap and removable arm rests and even tilts in case of encountering an obstruction when lowering. All the regular features of the original Multibath that make it one of our most popular baths are still available with the updated version.

Why not visit us in Birmingham between 29th April and 3rd May at the Naidex exhibition on stand C142 where we will be showing both of the above. We would love to hear your views on their facelifts. For any more information please visit our website www.kingkraft.co.uk

Kingkraft opened it's doors to healthcare professionals to demonstrate our bathing and sensory equipment and a range of other products from our suppliers.

A big thanks from Kingkraft!

Kingkraft would just like to thank all the healthcare professionals and care workers who turned up to our open day on Tuesday 12th March. It was a huge success which we hope to imitate again soon.

There were 30 people who turned up to see demonstrations on our bathing equipment and Protac's sensory equipment and a range of other products from our different suppliers. We invited Ropox, Guldmann, Pressalit, Geberit and Vela to display their equipment and it was a great success for everyone.

Dale Spademan, Kingkraft's Sales and Marketing Manager, said: "I think the open day was a fantastic success. There was a range of professionals from occupational therapists to technical officers and case managers who all bought a different view or level of need. The varied range of products was well received by people who may not always deal with that area. Also the reps from the other companies said they got a few enquiries and questions and found it worthwhile to exhibit with us for the day."

People were split into groups and took their turn seeing each supplier for 30 minutes for product demonstrations and scenarios asking any questions they had. It wasn't all classroom behaviour as our Geberit rep caused laughter when he showed his team how to use the Aquaclean 8000 toilet and accidently turned it on when sitting on it, spraying himself with water.

It was such a great day with everyone taking away a goody bag. Kingkraft made lots of new acquaintances who we hope to be dealing with again soon.

Please visit our facebook page to see the photos that we took of the day and email sign up for our newsletter which will tell you of any future open days we have.

And the next exhibition is....

In March, Kingkraft Ltd will be exhibiting at the UK’s leading educational training and resources event. The NEC will be playing host to the Education Show between March 14 and 16 and entry is free so book your places to avoid queuing on the day! Make sure you stop by stand HH98 and see us.

Our friendly sales and marketing staff will be exhibiting our VS range of ergonomic chairs, the Madita Fun postural chair and everyone’s favourite Sensit. All of our seating range has been designed to help children develop properly and concentrate and behave in the classroom or at home providing special educational needs resources. They can be used from early years all the way through to secondary education and further and higher if necessary.

Sensit
The Protac Sensit has been incredibly popular amongst our customers for children who need extra sensory stimulation and integration. Pressure at trigger points from the chair’s plastic balls stimulates tactile, muscle and joint sensation. These sensory perceptions send impulses to the central nervous system causing a soothing and relaxing effect which leads to greater bodily awareness. The chair helps with concentration as the neck and side wings provide extra security meaning the user can relax for longer periods of time so is the perfect choice for when doing homework.

Our VS ergonomic chairs were designed to encourage movement which surprisingly makes them great to use in the classroom. This is because…. Classroom furniture today restricts movement which impairs with body developments leading to tension and mental fatigue. The Hokki Stool is a great solution to this as it encourages the user to move frequently and encourages a dynamic seating position. The bottom of the stool is slightly curved meaning it doesn’t stand still. While the user is sitting they are constantly encouraged to rock the stool from side to side or circle with the hips.

The PantoMove-Lupo and Ergo desk
The PantoSwing-Lupo and PantoMove-Lupo are fitted with an air-cushion shell making it extremely comfortable to sit on during lessons which is very important for the long school day. The PantoSwing-Lupo is a cantilevered chair whereby a change of the position of the centre of gravity changes the inclination of the seat. In the forward sitting position, the seat is also inclined forwards which stimulates the spine to a dynamic balance and stabilises the posture. The PantoMove-Lupo offers movement to the user much like a computer chair does. However our chair adapts itself to the user and not vice versa. Natural and impulsive movements are not restrained making it a great chair to use in a school environment. In addition the seat also has a rocking effect to encourage movement in all directions and a regular chance of seating posture.

Madita Fun
The Madita Fun is a postural chair designed to support the body when it is developing and can be used from an early learning stage all the way through school. The seat position can be lowered to ground level so the user can interact with others while playing on the floor and can be raised for use at a desk or table. The seat and back angle can also be altered from the active position to the passive when the user grows tired. There are many additional features that can be added to the Madita Fun to support arms, feet, thighs etc.

We will also be exhibiting our VS height adjustable desks which are perfect for the classroom. These special ergonomic tables can be adjusted to help prevent any future back problems and encourages a physiological positive sitting posture. If the table is too low the child is forced to hunch over, or if it is too high the child will tense the shoulders which can result in neck and shoulder pain. These tables have a special tilting top providing a good working angle and posture in the classroom.

At the Education Show you will be able to try out the products and our sales team will be on hand to provide demonstrations and answer any questions you have. The Sensit is always a popular product at exhibitions so make sure you come and see us early to avoid the queues of people waiting for a go! We look forward to seeing you at the NEC.

Kingkraft opens it's doors again to healthcare professionals

Attention all! On Tuesday March 12th Kingkraft will be holding a special open day for all healthcare professionals with our suppliers to improve your knowledge and insight on assisted bathroom products, specialist seating, moving and handling and sensory integration.

As well as showing own products we have invited Guldmann, Ropox, Pressalit and Geberit to also show theirs and provide demonstrations.

"The best thing about the Kingkraft open day is that care professionals are able to touch and see the products rather than just rely on information in catalogues. Particularly as we have some very innovative new bathroom products which really benefit from hands on assessment. We're also finding that less OTs are able to travel to the big exhibitions like Naidex, so having an easily accessible mini show should make it really worthwhile to them."
Peter Davies, Sales Manager at Ropox

Kingkraft's own sales team will be on hand to provide expert knowledge and scenarios on our baths, active seating and sensory equipment. Professionals attending the open day will also have the special opportunity to view a new product that will be revealed for the first time on the day.

The day will include seven 30 minute seminars hosted by the different manufacturers enabling the attendees to learn about new developments in this sector. We will encourage everyone to get involved with the demonstrations so they are aware themselves on how to use the products being shown.

"It's a great opportunity for everyone working in healthcare services to see a wide range of suitable and easy-to-use products. For those that are already familiar with this equipment it's great for them to refresh their memory and hear of the new techniques and products that are being developed. From Kingkraft's prospective it's also a good chance to network with the OTs, Physios and other experts who work within this industry."
Dale Spademan, Sales and Marketing Manager at Kingkraft Ltd

If you would like to register your interest in the open day please email info@kingkraft.co.uk
